Duas Árvores is a wine producer in the demarcated region of Douro, in the Mendiz valley, at Quinta da Marcela. Born and raised by two Luso-Brazilians, friends for over 50 years, who love fine wines and love Portugal. From this declared love came the desire and the idea: to create a wine in Portugal, in the Douro region. To enjoy and share.
From a young age, the partner producers learned from their parents to appreciate, cherish, and respect a good wine. To drink it with the care, calmness, and moderation it demands. And, of course, with the recommended frequency and regularity…

For that, it is necessary to drink quality wines. And quality is essential; name and fame are not.
In summary, Duas Árvores wines are produced with care, attention, and respect. For people who share these values. Like you, perhaps.
Soil
Essentially schistose, allowing the vine roots to penetrate deep into the soil in search of water and nutrients.
Climate
Mediterranean, where the four seasons are well defined with a cold, rainy winter and a hot, dry summer.
Grape Varieties
As Portugal is an extremely rich country in native grape varieties, we express this same diversity with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Mourisco Tinto, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Alicante Bouschet, Viosinho, and Rabigato, among other older vines.
Solar Orientation
Vines planted at altitudes between 100 and 500 meters. They are oriented in all directions, mainly between southeast and southwest. These variations help create very different grapes and wines in a small vineyard area.
Vineyard
From the concentration and diversity of vines over 30 years old to the aromatic freshness of more recently planted vines, we create our wines: Reserva, Field Blend, and Rosé.
Winery
With modern technology, in our winery we can monitor fermentation at controlled temperatures, with automatic pump-overs for effective maceration. The wines age in French oak barrels for several months.
The Property
The grapes for Duas Árvores wines are grown at Quinta da Marcela, a property of about 20 hectares located in the Mendiz valley, near Pinhão. Of these hectares, 15.5 range from 100 to 500 meters in altitude.
